Student services and support

Course details and admissions information for the academic year 2023/24 will remain available on the legacy merger college websites listed below until applications for courses beginning September 2023 are closed to ensure continuity of service to all applicants.

From September 2023, legacy websites will be inaccessible, and all course information will gradually become available on the UHI North, West and Hebrides website, with an anticipated completion date of January 2024; this will include information relating to:

  • Course offering
  • Prospectus brochure
  • Open day registration
  • Admissions policies and procedures
  • Enrolment policies and procedures
  • Tuition fees
  • Student financing arrangements
  • Policies, regulations and processes relating to assessments, examinations and resits
  • Student progression regulations and details of how to change course

Collection, maintenance, and use of student personal information

Details regarding the collection, maintenance and use of student data is detailed; on merging, this notice is under review and will be published as soon as possible.

Students can update their personal data by logging into and amending details via the Student Portal or by contacting their course lecturer or student support.

All UHI NWH staff are contractually bound to handle student information with confidentiality and care and to complete annual data protection training. Outside of our legal obligations, College staff will never share your personal information with third parties, such as family or referees, unless you have first provided us with your consent.

Following a recent merger, UHI North, West and Hebrides is undergoing a restructure and anticipates that information relating to the following teaching quality processes and reports will be available by the end of the academic year. This page will be updated as soon as these publications are available.

 Library services

 Access to NWH Library services and its resources (print and electronic collections) is free for all registered UHI students and staff. Loanable items, primarily books can be requested through ‘Library Search’ (our Library Catalogue plus much more). Our service also ensures that distance and remote learners have fair access through usage of online services, including library chat and the postal loans facility.

 UHI NWH welcomes members of the public and other visitors to our library facilities, including the opportunity to browse our collections and read books.

 Sconul Access Scheme

Through our academic partnership with UHI, NWH registered staff and students may benefit from this nationwide inter-library loan scheme.  Depending on the nature of the request, up to two books may be borrowed at any one time.
