How to apply for a course: Further Education

(up to and including SCQF level 6)

  1. Once you have found a course you want to study the next step is to apply. You can do this by selecting the Apply tab on the relevant course web page.
  2. We will send you an acknowledgement email within 5 working days of receiving your application.
  3. You will be invited for interview.
  4. After your interview you will receive an email with our decision. If you are successful and receive an offer of a place, it is essential that you reply to that email to accept your place. Information about applying for funding will be given at this stage.
  5. Details of induction will be sent to you as the start date approaches.
  6. You will be invited to enrol online ahead of your first day, we will be in touch with instructions for this.

How to apply for a course: Higher Education

(SCQF level 7 and above)

  1. Applications for Degree courses must be made through UCAS using UHI provider code: H49. Before you are able to apply you must register with them for entry. For more information on how to register and apply through UCAS visit their website.
  2. You can apply for any of our HNCs or HNDs by applying through UCAS or by selecting the Apply tab on the relevant course web page.
  3. You will receive an acknowledgement email within 5 working days.
  4. Your application form will then be passed to the Programme Leader who will make a decision based on the entry criteria and your personal statement. You will then be issued with an email informing you of a decision. If you are successful with your application, it is essential that you reply to that email to accept your place as failure to do so may result in your place being re-allocated.
  5. Once we receive your email of acceptance, you will be invited to enrol online.
  6. Details about induction will be sent to you as the start date approaches.

Short and part time courses

Contact your nearest college centre for information on how to enrol on any of our other short or part time courses.

Terms of Offer

UHI Nort, West and Hebrides may need to make changes to the courses it offers if, for example, funding is withdrawn, there is insufficient interest, or there are difficulties with college resources. If a change occurs to a course about which you have expressed an interest, the college will contact you with further information. For more information about this please see our terms of offer.
