What is special about this course?

Higher Computing Science will build on your existing computing skills and introduce you to an advanced range of computational processes and thinking and develops a rigorous approach to the design and development process across a variety of contemporary contexts. You will gain an awareness of the importance that computing professionals play in meeting the needs of society today and for the future, in fields which include science, education, business and industry.

Entry requirements

National 5 Computing Science (or other Computing-based qualification).

Candidates who have not achieved National 5 Computing Science may still apply and other N5/Highers will be considered. You may be required to take an entrance test to prove your capability of studying Computing Science at this level.

You will learn online through timetabled classes delivered by a lecturer in a virtual classroom. You’ll use our virtual learning environment to access resources, complete assessments, and chat with your lecturer and classmates.

  • Tuesdays 6pm - 9pm
  • Optional Tutorial 5pm - 5.45pm
