You can start studying with us through subject choices at High School and continue to study  full time and part time courses right up to postgraduate level with flexible study options covering a wide range of subject areas accessed through our virtual online classroom. 

 

Studying at College while you're still at School

Our senior phase courses offer S4-S6 pupils the opportunity to get a step ahead in their chosen career path. We work closely with local High Schools including Ardnamurchan High School to offer a range of foundation apprenticeships, Highers, degree modules and vocational course choices to pupils in S4-S6. Some Nat 5s and Highers in various subjects can also be studied in the evenings in our college centres.

Senior Phase subjects complement the school curriculum and offer pupils the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in new areas.  Pupils are introduced to these courses through their local school when timetabling for choices occurs and can are studied in school using our online virtual classroom or, for some practical courses, at one of our larger campuses.

We also have a range of subjects for Home Schooling  – our centre staff can offer support in subject selection so please get in touch.

"I can't believe how easy it's been to get back into studying, and I've had all the support I need from UHI. It's well over 20 years since I last did any long term study, so I was concerned about whether I'd cope. But I get a real buzz out of being able to log into a live online lecture from wherever I happen to be, via my own laptop!

Most of the live lectures are recorded, so I can go back and watch them again any time it suits me to, and much of the required reading material is accessible online. The library has been brilliant at helping to track down obscure books I need to read in the old fashioned paper format!

There was a lot to learn about at the beginning, getting used to the online system, but it really didn't take long before it all seemed "logical."
