Gaelic
Gaelic is intrinsic to our island culture and heritage. UHI Outer Hebrides, as the only tertiary education provider in the Western Isles, is uniquely situated to help drive forward a revitalisation of Gaelic within our communities.
Tha roinn na Gàidhlig aig UHI Innse Gall a’ lìbhrigeadh farsaingeachd de chùrsaichean Àrd Ìre, a’ toirt a-steach dà chùrsa fo-cheuma tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig – BA (le Urram) Cànan agus Cultar agus BA (le Urram) Gàidhlig agus Leasachadh, a thilleadh air BA (le Urram) Gaelic Scotland a tha air a’ lìbhrigeadh tro mheadhan na Beurla. Tha an luchd-oide cuideachd an sàs ann am BA (le Urram) Gàidhlig agus Foghlam, PGDE Teisteanas Proifeasanta For-cheum ann am Foghlam (slighe Ghàidhlig), agus ann an cùrsaichean ceuma eile leithid BA (le Urram) Litreachas agus BSc Leasachadh Dùthachail. Tha spèisealachadan an luchd-oide a’ gabhail a-steach, am measg chuspairean eile, litreachas, beul-aithris, ionnsachadh cànain agus leasachadh coimhearsnachd.
Tha a’ Cholaisde a’ lìbhrigeadh chùrsaichean aig ìre Foghlam Adhartach do luchd-ionnsachaidh na Gàidhlig, eadar clasaichean comhraidh neo-fhoirmeil agus cùrsaichean barantaichte le Ùghdarras Teisteanas na h-Alba. Bithear cuideachd a’ ruith chlasaichean do dh’fhileantaich/luchd-ionnsachaidh adhartach a tha airson nan sgilean litearrachd aca a leasachadh.
Tha UHI Innse Gall, mar an t-aon sholaraiche foghlaim treas-ìre sna h-eileanan, air leth suidhichte airson a bhith an sàs ann an ath-bheothachadh na Gàidhlig sna coimhearsnachdan againn. Thathar ag aithneachadh cho cudromach ’s a tha e a bhith a’ toirt a’ Cholaisde agus a’ choimhearsnachd ri chèile agus an luach a tha ann an cànan, cultar agus dualchas nan eilean againn. Tha sinn dealasach mu bhith a’ toirt taic do leasachadh sgilean agus ionnsachadh cànain, ag obair còmhla ri buidhnean dualchais agus coimhearsnachd gus an dualchas seo a dhìon agus adhartachadh mar sho-mhaoin coimhearsnachd.
