MSc Sustainable Rural Development

Working for a number of years within the field of sustainable development, I felt it was important that I authenticate my practice and the MSc in Sustainable Rural Development seemed like a perfect opportunity to achieve this.

I encountered some personal difficulties arising from a family bereavement during my time on the course. Had it not been for the guidance and encouragement of my personal academic tutor, course leader Dr. Michael Smith and the other tutors, I would have found the course requirements a challenge to meet.

I found that lecturers and fellow students brought with them deep knowledge to course exercises and group conversations, which in turn often challenged me and led to unexpected conclusions and fields of enquiry. Year two provided the opportunity to conduct original research and again faculty staff provided practical advice and support which proved invaluable.
