UHI outer Hebrides campus
Our main campus can be found in the heart of the stunning Lews Castle Ground in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. The beautiful grounds overlook the harbour and are perfect for walks, outdoor studies or relaxing between classes. Our extensive campus facilities include everything you’ll need to enjoy your time here. Whether you’re enjoying the atmosphere in our buzzing student cafe, reading in our well-stocked library or taking advantage of our dedicated study areas, there’s always a place where you’ll feel at home. We also have our very own hairdressing salon and student social areas.
Lews Castle itself is open to the public and is home to the bilingual Museum nan Eilean, where you can explore the rich island history. The castle formerly housed college students, but after an extensive renovation, has been turned into self-catering accommodation and has a cafe area. It’s also a perfect base to enjoy Stornoway’s vibrant nightlife and immerse yourself in the local culture. Stornoway is home to the world-famous Hebridean Celtic Festival, proudly sponsored by the college. The festival, held each year in July, always includes a performance from our Music alumni.
