Lews Castle College UHI’s Open Week Celebrates Local Career Opportunities with Industry Experts
Lews Castle College UHI is bringing together industry leaders and experts from across the Outer Hebrides for an event that will showcase local career opportunities and industry across the Islands.
The weeklong event will celebrate a different industry and sector each day and welcome a range of speakers to share their thoughts and experience to inspire the next generation of students.
The college will welcome guest speakers from NHS Western Isles, Harland & Wolff’s team at Arnish, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Nature Scot, Visit Scotland and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Care and Development Departments.
Sue MacFarlane Interim Principal at LCC UHI said, “Our aim is to bring together local industry and experts and offer a unique insight into a huge variety of subjects and careers. We want to engage and inspire the next generation of students to find their future with Lews Castle College UHI.
We want to create discussion around important sectors for the Outer Hebrides such a Healthcare and Tourism and show people what careers and courses are available to them via LCC UHI. We have also developed a ‘Sustainability and Development Day’ where we will welcome key figures from Community Land Outer Hebrides and the Islands Deal Partnership to discuss Climate Change and our islands as COP26 continues in Glasgow this week.”
Each event will take place on campus but there will limited availability due to Covid regulations. The event will also be available for anyone to access via a live link. To register your interest for the event and secure you place now please email - lccmarketing@uhi.ac.uk
