Hairdressing SQA Level 6
What is special about this course?
This Hairdressing course builds on the knowledge and skills gained on the Hairdressing level 5 Course. It further develops practical skills required by someone wishing to begin work within the hairdressing industry.
The Course content provides a firm foundation for building the skills and knowledge required to pursue a career in the hairdressing industry. The focus is on experiencing the salon environment to learn about the different practical skills and responsibilities in hairdressing and to develop vocational skills and knowledge.
As well as preparing students for entry to employment, the course also provides preparation for further study in hairdressing’s different career paths. The Course content places emphasis on the employability skills and attitudes, which will help to prepare candidates for the workplace.
Entry requirements
- Students who have successfully completed Level 5.
- Students who have relevant qualifications and experience.
Skills will be developed in -
- Creative cutting
- Colour correction
- Special effects
- Long hair design
- Commercial experience.
Core skills will be included within the course programme.
