NQ Skill Up SCQF Level 5

What is special about this course?

This course provides students with the opportunity to gain a variety of essential qualifications at a level to allow progression into further study, apprenticeship, or employment.

Students will study core skills in Maths, English, and IT, qualifications will be gained in Employability, Personal Finance, and Volunteering, and a choice of Skills for Work Awards to choose a vocational area of interest will be available to the learner.

Students will also study the SQA Mental Health and Wellbeing Award, exploring influences on Mental Health, understanding mental health issues, and learning about coping strategies, and building resilience.

This course places emphasis on employability skills and attitudes, which will help prepare candidates for the workplace.

Entry requirements

Candidates undertaking a level 5 NQ should possess core skills at SCQF level 4 on entry to the programme or have successfully completed NQ Personal and Vocational Studies level 4. Adult returners will have prior experience taken into consideration. Also based on a satisfactory interview and an ability to work at National 5 level.
