Pathways for Learning Level 4 NQ
What is special about this course?
This National Qualification Pathways4Life course is designed to introduce learners to Further Education through developing their confidence and skills enabling them to progress to further study, training, volunteering or employment.
Entry requirements
Candidates undertaking a level 4 NQ should possess Core Skills at SCQF level 3 on entry to the programme. Adult returners will have prior experience taken into consideration. Also based on a satisfactory interview and an ability to work at National 4 level.
Full-time students will be expected to complete 1 SQA NPA pathway and 3 other college-devised pathways (16 credits). Part-time students will be expected to complete 1 SQA NPA pathway and 1 other college-devised pathway (8 credits) as part of their award. The choice of pathways is as follows:
NPA pathway: Bakery (SCQF4) G9T5 44 - (4 credits) [SQA-CERTIFIED CORE]
NPA-equivalent pathway: Horticulture - (4 credits)
NPA-equivalent pathway: Photography - (4 credits)
NPA-equivalent pathway: Angling and the Aquatic Environment) - (4 credits)
NPA-equivalent pathway: Activity Tourism - (4 credits)
In addition, full-time students will be expected to complete 2 additional credits (from the three outlined below), and part-time students will be expected to complete 1 additional credit as part of their award.
1. Introduction to Art and Design - (1 credit) or 2. Beauty Skills (evening based) - (1 credit)
3. Budgeting: Buying & Selling Stuff - (1 credit)
